Flat White

Flat White
17 Berwick St Soho, W1F 0PT
Nearest Tube: Oxford St.

Of course this place was one of my first stops in London, being almost entirely staffed by antipodeans. The coffee is indeed excellent, strong and creamy and the right temperature to gulp down greedily (as I have often found myself doing on a Saturday morning after a week of abstinence). These people know what they're doing. Their coffee is consistently good and they also have Vegemite on Turkish toast - my go-to breakfast in a hurry. I'm happy to go somewhere just for good coffee but yummy food is a bonus. Good music is played and artwork hangs on the walls - these guys are hipsters but more worried about making good coffee than looking cool. If I had one criticism it is the lack of seating, although waiting is definitely worth it. A little gem tucked away from the less salubrious buzz of Oxford St. Am yet to try their second offshoot Milk Bar, but if Flat White is anything to go by things are looking decidedly rosy.
